CRFFN ELECTION: Group Pledges To Reposition Regulatory Body For Better Performance

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has said its participation in the 2021 Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) governing council election is to correct the malfunctioning of the agency in order to reposition it to perform its statutory functions in the total  logistics chain management industry.

 

Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam made this known on Thursday, during an interactive session with members of the association who have signified their intention to contest the October 9th, 2021 Election into the Governing Council of the CRFFN.

 

According to a statement on Thursday, Dr. Aniebonam at an interactive session with members of the association, said the large number of Contestants from NAGAFF is a clear signal that the Association is ready to go all out to claim the maximum seats to be able to effect the necessary changes in the modus operandi of the CRFFN.

 

The founder of NAGAFF said it is an open secret that the CRFFN has not lived up to expectations since its inception because those with the basic knowledge of the reasons for the establishment of the Regulatory body   may not have been found at the driver seat.

 

Dr. Aniebonam traced the history of the birth of CRFFN, laying emphasis on the roles played by NAGAFF from the preparation of the bill through the legislative processes at the National Assembly until it was signed into law as the CRFFN Act 16, 2007.

 

The maritime guru expressed worries that those who tried to kill the CRFFN bill later took the driver’s seat after its birth and messed up the Council from inception stopping it from meeting the yearnings and aspirations of its founding fathers.

 

He urged all the contestants from NAGAFF to see the election as a serious business, in which NAGAFF will only settle for maximum seats to be able to take control of the Council to make it deliver on its mandate.

 

He reminded them that the young Freight Forwarders are looking up to NAGAFF to liberate them from the current exploitation in the Industry, using the CRFFN platform.

 

Dr. Aniebonam urged other NAGAFF members spread all over Nigeria to pick up forms to be able to contest all the 15 seats, because the Association has what it takes to do just that.

 

At the end of the meeting, management of the association in conjunction with the Contestants resolved to give the election their best in order to record resounding success and possibly take all the fifteen seats available. As a take off fund our NAGAFF Contestants have raised a sum of 100 million naira for other logistics required for the purposes of the election.
