Covid19: Lagos Govt Commissions Onikan Isolation Center

Lagos State Governor and #Covid19 Incident Commander for the State, Mr @jidesanwoolu on Wednesday commissioned 110-bed Isolation facility at Onikan. The facility donated by @gtbank & other partners – @africa_finance @mandilasgroup is for management of #COVID19 cases in Lagos State.

The Governor, after a tour of the facility, thanked the management of @gtbank led by the MD/CEO Mr. Segun Agbaje and other partners for the timely donation.

@jidesanwoolu noted the facility will help build excess capacity for #COVID19Lagos case management in the event that there is a huge spike in Lagos.

@jidesanwoolu encouraged the team of health volunteers manning the facility to exhibit high degree of professionalism in the discharge of their duties stressing that their safety is of utmost priority to @lagosstategovt .

No fewer than 60 volunteer medical personnel and support staff with expertise in Infection Prevention and Control have been deployed to the facility.

The centre commenced operations on Wednesday 8th April’s, 2020 with 7 patients on admission.
