COMTUA Rejigs Administrative Structures, As Adeyanju , Aloga ,Others Top Executive Positions

The Council of Maritime Transport Unions and Associations (COMTUA),has announced the restructuring of its administrative team, as part of efforts to address the current traffic challenges along the port corridors and free flow of cargo movement.

Part of the restructuring made by the Council revealed, that Mr Ogbogo I Aloga will serve as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) with Comrade Prince Adewale Adeyanju as the Co – Chairman.

This was contained in a statement made available to our correspondent by Victor A Nnotum, Acting Secretary of the council management team.

The statement disclosed that Comrade Olaleye Thompson emerged as the new President of COMTUA , while the General Coordinator of the Management Team is Mrs Folake George.

The statement added that””We wish to inform the general public that COMTUA has restructured it’s administrative structure in with the current challenges of the Nigerian economy.

” There are other departments/sections under the management team, all working towards the good and betterment of the council and the maritime sector in general by collaborating with other critical stakeholders in either managing the gridlock or finding an end to the gridlock.

“The Council Traffic Task Force shall work with the Nigerian Police Force and LASTMA to ensure that all Traffic rules and regulations are obeyed by the drivers either on the Road or inside the Ports/Terminals.

” Any erring driver will be severally sanctioned. All broken Truck shall be removed as quickly as possible to ensure free flow of Traffic.

“The welfare of the drivers and the interest of the owners are also of great importance to the council.

“This serves as an official letter of introduction. All correspondences to be directed to the office of the General Secretary and the President.”

COMTUA is a collaboration of all major transport unions/associations operating in the Lagos Ports.These are: Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO),
Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria.(RTEAN), and Amalgamation of container truck owners Association (ACTOA).

Others are : Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria ( MWUN ), National Union of Road Transport Workers.(NURTW), Container Truck Owners Association of Nigeria (COTOAN) and
Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO).

Meanwhile ,the management team is made up of three members drawn from each of the affiliate unions/Associations.
