Comrade Sanni Funeral: MWUN Set Up 11 Man Committee,   As Adeyanju Bags UK Honorary Fellow, Award

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN),has constituted an 11-man committee to map out strategy for a befitting burial arrangement for Late Comrade Adeleke Sanni .

 

The union has also fixed August 12th for the wake keep by 4pm whilst 13th is for the burial at 10am .

 

The committee is chaired by Comrade Harry Tonye, Deputy President General MWUN.

The Committee has been mandated to liase with the Late Sanni family on burial arrangement and logistics; develop a programme of event, determine a cost scheme for the various phases of the ceremony.

 

Also, they are to recommend and determine modalities for the union participation.

The committee  is expected to turn in its report not later than Friday 30th July 2021.

 

Late Comrade Sanni will be laid to rest  at his Ayobo resident , Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Members of the committee include Harry Tonye as Chairman and Comrade John Ekpo as Secretary.

Others are : Comrade Ifeanyi Mazeli, Ibrahim Ohize, Sunday Avoseh, Ekpeyong Ekpeyong and Funmi Fasan.

 

Others are Matina Njoku, Habibat Osomode , Oniha Erazua and Folashade Samuel.

 

Speaking with our correspondent over the weekend, Chairman of the committee, Harry Tonye maintained that the union is still under a mourning situation over the death of Comrade Sanni.

Tonye noted that the President General of the union has mandated the committee to do the needful in ensuring that the funeral is properly planned.

 

The chairman added that the committee would come up with a blue print in mapping out strategy for a successful funeral.

 

Tonye said the Committee would submit its recommendation to the National Executives Council of the union this week for approval.

 

Meanwhile, the President General, Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN ),Comrade Adewale Adeyanju is set for a  paper presentation in the United Kingdom (UK), as part of the recent awards conferred on him.

Adeyanju who has been honoured with the  Institute of Corporate & Public Sector Professionals (ICPSP) laurel will be present in Uk for the presentation in August.

 

The MWUN boss who disclosed this on Thursday in Lagos, noted that ” I will be in Uk as one of the lead speaker in the Congress. This is in line with the honourary award conferred on me”.
