A maritime stakeholder, Aare Haruna Omolajomo has emerged Chairman, Community Development Association (CDA), Agiliti Central under Ikosi Isheri ,Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Omolajomo who is the secretary general ,Bonded Terminal Operators Association of Nigeria (BTOAN) and a committee chairman of Barge Operators Association of Nigeria (BOAN) won the keenly contested election on the 19th of December 2019.
The newly elected chairman and his executives will pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years.
Speaking at the inauguration /handing over ceremony held on Saturday in Lagos , Omololajomo reiterated that issues bothering on security would top his priority list , adding that some of his seven points agenda during the election campaign has been achieved.
While recalling his seven points agenda , the Chairman stressed that “membership drive which include awareness for new members especially tenants must be taken seriously; recognition cum advice from elders participation and compensation of youths must be encouraged.
”We will ensure adequate representation within and outside Agiliti town and we will also work assiduously to tackle the issue of environmental cleaning and drainage control because this is another problem faced by our people.
According to him, works have commenced on the arcade project which was proposed during the election campaign.
” My great people, kindly note that immediately we were elected, I met with my other executives and necessary stakeholders, besides the seven point agenda I had earlier on rolled out, the executives are working on these points in order to add their own .
“So far we have started to take actions. In the next few weeks , we shall have the community arcade erected at the entrance to Agiliti town after the necessary approval from the government”, Omolajomo affirmed.
The Chairman said a what’s up groups have been created for executive and the community in general adding that the process was aimed at dissemination of information and communications.
He added that the new executives would further honour distinguished man and woman annually for their contributions to community development, noting that CDA is meant for landlords, landladies, tenants and residents in the area.
The Chairman also reaffirmed the executives’ commitment to secure a befitting secretariat for the association pointing out that a permanent office for the group would further assist in resolving vital issues affecting the community.
The Agiliti Central CDA executives has Mr. Emmanuel Osobanjo as vice chairman while Anthony Odubona emerged Secretary.
Others are Kehinde Shittu as treasurer, Emmanuel Kodaolu emerged financial secretary and Engineer Soyemi Folajimi welfare secretary.
Chief Toyin Gbadebo as Public Relations Officers, Segun Omidiji auditor, Chief Taiwo Adewale and Alhaji Oyelakin ,M.A ex officio .
Madam Adeyemi Folake also made the list of executive as an additional ex officio.
