CILT Nigeria Woos Port Managers Of TCIPC, LPC On Master Class Programme

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria has called on the Port Managers , TIn Can Island Port Complex (TCIPC), Sylvester Egede and his counterpart from the Lagos Ports Complex (LPC), Charles Okaga to embrace its forthcoming Master Class Programme as part of efforts toward building capacity for executive officers.

The institute ‘s council members led by the CILT Vice President West, Mr Samuel Usoro made the plea during a courtesy call on the two port managers in Lagos on Monday.

While speaking with the Port Manager at Tin Can Island Port, the CILT Vice President West expressed gratitude for Egede’s open door policy even as he went further to notify the PM on the forth coming Annual General Meeting and Conference coming up in the fourth quarter of the year.

The VP West informed the PM about the CILT master class Program which is designed to be advantageous for Chief Executives, advising him to key into the second batch of the programme.

Usoro also informed the Port Manager, discussed ways to improve membership participation in CILT activities.

In a related development, the Institute paid a courtesy call to the Port Manager, LPC, where the Vice President West reiterated the points raised with the PM TCIPC to Okaga.

The VP West Mr Samuel Usoro, congratulated the PM LPC on his recent conferment of the rank of Fellow of the CILT, his promotion to GM and the award of an honorary Doctorate Degree.

He further notified the PM of the forth coming CILT AGM/Conference on the 8th-9th of October 2024 at Nicon Hotels, Abuja.

The Chairman , Lagos Branch of the Institute Mr Bashir Ambi Mohammed, informed the PMs of the need for the new NPA Management to key in to the CILT Master Class on Logistics and Transport for top management and Chief Executives.

He said its a weekend online programme which exposes Chief Executives to modern logistics and transportation solutions.

While responding, Port Manager TCIPC, expressed his appreciation for the programmes and activities of the current council of the CILT.

On his part,Port Manager LPC expressed his delight to be amidst council members of the CILT.

He went further to challenge the CILT council members to enshrine professionalism as the only yardstick for growth and membership into the CILT.

This, he said would ensure that the institute achieve a level of success where key positions in Transport and Logistics in the country would only be manned by chartered members of the Institute.

Okaga also promised to support the institute in all its activities and programmes.
