CILT Nigeria Lauds Shippers Council For Hoisting Professionalism

The Executives of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Nigeria has commended management of the Nigerian Shippers Council for hoisting professionalism as economic port regulator in line with international best practices.

President of CILT Nigeria, Barrister Mfon Usoro gave the commendation on Friday in Lagos, during a courtesy visit to the Executive Secretary/CEO of Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Barr. Pius Akutah, MON.

Usoro who was represented by the Chairman, Lagos Branch, CILT Nigeria, Mr. Bashir Ambi,
and accompanied by 2 – Opinion Leaders from the branch, Mrs. Ify Okolue and Alh Mohammed Abba, said, ” My Chief Executive, we are here on behalf of Madam President, CILT NIG. Barr. Mfon Usoro, FCILT. She sent the Institute’s regards to the ES/CEO and the Council for foisting professionalism within the Industry and beyond. ”

He further stated that ” We are happy to respectfully inform the ES/CEO that Nigerian Shippers’ Council is the only Parastatals with 2-Membership on the National Council of CILT- Nig.We thanked the Management for giving us such rare privilege. We may not have too much money but the Council is blessed with knowledge and trust that make us relevance any where.”

He concluded by reminding the Nigerian Shippers’ Council on the AGM/National Conference scheduled for 8th-9th October, 2024 at Nicon Luxury, Abuja. The chairman said the Council is a corporate Member and thanked the NSC for all the support.

“we will not fail you anywhere we are saddle with responsibilities, we will continue to add value to the economy in line with your training. We will’ continue to make the Council proud”

Responding, the Executive Secretary/CEO, Barr Pius Akutah, MON welcomed the visiting team and urged them to keep the ball rolling as good ambassadors of the Council.

“‘We will support you’. ‘ We are happy to hear that the Council has 2 representatives on the Council of the Institute. Based on availability of fund we will continue to train and retrain the staff for optimal performance as Regulator.”Akutah noted.
