Immediate past Customs Area Controller at PTML Command, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Joe Anani has officially handed over to Deputy Controller of Customs (DC) Nura Miko in an acting capacity.
Comptroller Anani assumed duty at Tin Can Island Port Command of the service on Friday.
Speaking at the handover ceremony on Monday at the command in Lagos, Comptroller Anani described the incoming Area Controller as a core professional officer and assured him that he would be available for advice when needed.

He noted that Tin Can Island Port Command is only one kilometer away from PTML, hence the need for the newly appointed controller to consult him whenever the need arises on customs processes and procedures.
He added that his eight months as Customs Area Controller at PTML Command witnessed steady growth in revenue and trade facilitation.
In his remarks, DC Miko said he was taking over from a respected senior colleague whom he described as a professional officer. He stressed that standards have been set and promised to consolidate them.
DC Miko pledged to work with the officers and men of the command, noting that trade facilitation will be a top priority.
Apparent in his determination to be diligent, DC Miko emphasized that due process must be strictly observed, adding, “Together we will take the command to greater heights.”
He said synergy with other government agencies would be strategic, affirming that the responsibility to succeed will be a collective effort.
DC Miko commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, for the deployment to serve at PTML.
