CACOVID PALLIATIVE: A’Ibom Takes Delivery Of 13 Truck Loads Of Rice

The Akwa Ibom State Government has taken delivery of a total of thirteen trucks laden with 50kg bags of rice.

 

The state government also disclosed plans to commence distribution of another set of palliatives to residents of the state.

 

This was made known recently by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on MDGs, Mr Elijah Iyak while taking delivery of trucks of palliatives from corporate Nigerians under the aegis of CACOVID.

According to a statement on Thursday, SSA explained that a total number of thirteen trucks of palliatives are expected within the week, noting that so far, two trucks have been received.

He further explained that the State Governor, His Excellency Mr. Udom Emmanuel has directed that distribution of the palliatives should commence as soon as the shipment to Uyo is completed.

While delivering the palliatives, the representative of CACOVID, Mr Emeka Nwodo said all the thirteen trucks are already heading to Uyo, and will continue to arrive till weekend.

According to him, the palliatives this time around is rice bagged in 10kg bags.

Mr. Nwodo also used the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of CACOVID towards support the Government to mitigate economic constraints on Nigerians triggered by the novel Coronavirus pandemic, and other social issues in the country.
