BREAKING: Nigerian Movie Director “Ifeanyi Onyeabor” Dies On Set  

The entertainment industry on Friday was thrown into mourning as a movie director  Mr. Ifeanyi Onyeabor died on set.

 

 

SIC entertainment production Nigeria Limited  announce the sudden death of the Nollywood  director after a  brief illness .

 

The company in a statement  disclosed that staff and management of the group are pained and are in deep sorrow.

 

The burial arrangement  would be announced later.

 

“Onyeabor, died at an ungodly hour this morning, good Friday (Easter) .”

 

“Onyeabor until his death was a Nigerian movie director and stunt specialist, died while filming in Jos, Plateau State. His body has been transferred to a morgue.”

 

“The Actor Guild of Nigeria, The SIC entertainment production and Nigeria movie Industry has lost a rare gem.”

 

Onyeabor is best remembered for his critically acclaimed ghetto movie, New Jerusalem, which earned him several nominations and a win at the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA).

 

He was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress.

 

“When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – making movies.

 

“Onyeabor was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.

 

“Onyeabor, will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your movie will keep your memory alive.

 

“We would like to thank you for the support and the loving words about our brother, director.

 

“We are so grateful for everyone who loved Onyeabor’s movie’s and have precious memories of his movies. May his gentle soul rest in peace” SIC Group stated in the statement.
