BREAKING: Engr. Bob Yousou Emerges President Of Merchant Navy Union

The Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNO/WTSSA) has elected Engr. Bob Joseph Yousuo as its National President.

 

 

The newly elected President is expected to run the affairs of the union for the next four year.

 

 

Speaking shortly after the swearing in ceremony held in Asaba, Delta State, at the end of the 1st quadrennial national delegates conference, newly elected National President of the union, Engineer Yousuo promised to restructure the national secretariat for it to be attractive for members.

Engr. Yousuo affirmed that issues bothering on members poaching will also top his agenda as the leader, adding that proliferation of the union’s nomenclature will be addressed abruptly.

 

 

He also described the conference as best in the history of the union, noting that with the support of the new executives and members of the union ; those that have left the seafaring  union would return back peacefully.

 

 

Recall that the union had raised the alarm of poaching of members by sister maritime unions in its secretariat report.

According to him,” When our secretariat is attractive to our members I believe they will come back to us and that is why I said I will work harder to make the secretariat attractive for us all “.

 

 

He further assured to carry all members of the association along in a bid to drive the union to greater height.

 

 

The union also elected Comrade Boniface Akwubor as Deputy National President and Captain Prince Dagogo as Vice National President (Offshore Zone).

 

 

Others include: Engineer Wale George Ogunsola as Vice National President (Shipping Zone) and Captain Isaac Esiekpe; Vice National President (Fishing Zone).

The union also has Comrade Yakubu T. Zurkarneni as Vice National President (NIWA Zone); while Engineer Reginald Onyenobi as National Treasurer, Engineer Edewor Bernard as National Auditor 1.

 

 

Comrade Jekiri Festus emerged National Auditor 2, Comrade Ayorinde Mercy Ebunola as National Trustee 1,  Engineer Lawrence Olopade as National Trustee 2 , Captain Benjamin Bekes as National Trustee 3.

 

 

Meanwhile the immediate past national President, Comrade Alalade Matthew emerged Ex – Officio.
