Bandits Kill Two Customs Officers, Torch Vehicles In Kebbi Checkpoint Raid

Two officers from the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Northern Western Marine Command, were killed by bandits at a checkpoint in Kebbi State’s Tugga community, under Bagudo Local Government Area, DAILY FOCUS NIGERIA has learned.

The attack occurred around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. The victims, an Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASC II) and a Deputy Superintendent of Customs, died in the line of duty.

In addition to the fatalities, bandits burned one patrol Toyota Hilux and two cars. Sources confirmed:

“Two cars and one Toyota Hilux were all burnt. The one-star officer was newly deployed to that checkpoint, while the three-star officer was roasted alive.”

The assailants, traveling in vehicles due to the state’s motorcycle ban amid insecurity, hit two checkpoints simultaneously that day.

NCS National Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Maiwada confirmed the incident to our correspondent, noting an ongoing investigation.

He noted that banditry and terrorism activities in the country do not deserve publicity..
