Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the redeployment of Engineer Tayo Bamgbose-Martins to the state Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development as Commissioner following the resignation of Dr Idris Salako.
Salako had tendered his resignation on Monday, 5 September, 2022 in the wake of the collapse of the uncompleted 7-storey building at Lekki in which seven people died.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced the appointment of Bamgbose-Martins on Wednesday, 7 September, 2022 in Lagos.
Until his new appointment, Bamgbose-Martins was the state Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Relations.
The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, had accepted the resignation of the ex Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, saying” This is a prelude to the restructuring of the Ministry and its agencies.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu thanked the Commissioner for his services to the State and wishes him success in his future endeavours.
The Governor warned all players in the sector to respect the law or face the consequences of any indiscretion, no matter who the perpetrators are.
