AT AGM: CILT Confers Fellow Honours To Four Officials Of Shippers Council

The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) Nigeria has conferred “Chartered Fellow”to four officials of  the Nigerian Shippers Council at the just concluded Annual General Meeting and National  Conference held in Warri , Delta State.

 

The four officers who were conferred based on merit in academic and routine contributions to the growth of the Institute, via paper presentations; are : Mr Daniel.B. Bonat, FCILT ,  Bashir Ambi,FCILT, Mrs Enoche Ogenyi, FCILT and Mrs Rakiya Nuhu, FCILT.

 

Mr Daniel B. Bonat, FCILT, is the current Director of Finance and Account ( DFA )of NSC.

Bashir Ambi , is currently the President of NSC Multi Million Naira (cash excluding Investments) of the Council’s Staff Multi Purpose Cooperative Society.

While presenting the awards, the National President of the Institute: Alh Abubakar Jibrin stated that all the inductees must have passed through the Mandatory Exams by the CILT ~Uk, in addition to the Exams by the Nigeria Chapter.

 

Jubrin was represented by the Deputy National President, Dr Alban Igwe.

Also  in his opening remark, the Chairman of the Conference, Prof. Sam Egite Oyovbaire, tasked the council’s inductees to live up to expectations in a bid to support the growth of the institute and transport sector

Oyovbairwe who is also the Pro Chancellor, Governing Council of Delta State University welcomed members to the conference with the theme”Multi Modal Freight Logistics in Nigeria: The Role of Rail Transportation.

 

Speaking, National Vice President of the Institute’s South West zone , who is also a Council Member of the Institute , Mrs Margret Ogbonna  ,urged members of the Institution from her Constituency , Nigerian Shippers’ Council to braced up in tackling any Professional Challenge not only within the Institute but the transport sector as a whole.

 

Ogbonna further challenged the CILT NSC branch to ensure that young officers in the Council are encourage to join the Professional body of CILT.

While responding to  questions about officials from the council’s are making significant contributions to the Institute, she said ” of course, we are making a remarkable progress, to the growth of the institute. ”

 

She however thanked the Management of the Council  for the supports giving to members of different Professional bodies.

 

The 2019 National Conference/AGM, has a total of I87 members  inducted in to  different grades of the Institute, with 37 conferred with Chartered Fellows, 52 members conferred with Chartered Members and 98 inductees as Members of the Institute.
