Following two days of dispute between port concessionaire , AP. Moller Terminals Apapa and dockworkers over anti labour activities, management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced the commencement of ETO Issuance to transporters and other stakeholders in the logistics chain operations.
According to a tweet on Saturday by the port authority, the resumption followed the resolution of the dispute between APMT and the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria.
NPA called on stakeholders for their support and patience in working towards perfecting operations with the electronic call up.
The tweet said “Management is delighted to announce the resumption of activities at the AP Moller Terminal at the Lagos Port Complex.
“This followed the resolution of the dispute between APMT and the Maritime Workers Union.
“Issuance of Eto tickets have thereafter resumed and operations are going on seamlessly.
“Management thanks all stakeholders for their support and patience as we work towards perfecting operations with the electronic call up.
Recall that the dispute between the management of AP Moller Terminals at the Lagos Ports Complex, Apapa and members of the Maritime Workers Union on Thursday April 15, 2021, disrupted operations at Lagos Ports Complex.
Series of tweets on Thursday by NPA stressed that “While the Authority is working towards resolving the dispute between the two parties, APMT will not be able to receive or exit cargoes for the next 24 hours.
“The Authority hereby calls on stakeholders to please take note as ETO tickets will not be issued to APMT bound cargoes.”
