Anti-Drug Foundation Seeks NDLEA Collaboration To Combat Drug Abuse ,  Trafficking

The Anti- Drug impact Foundation has reiterated its readiness to collaborate with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in furtherance to curb the menace of drug trafficking and abuse in Lagos and the country.

In a New Year  message, Olayiwola Ibrahim,  Founder of the Anti-Drug Impact Foundation, a non-governmental organization, emphasized the need for increased cooperation between parents, guardians, custodians, and community leaders with the NDLEA in the collective fight against drug abuse, addiction, and trafficking.

This call to action was made during an online weekly lecture, aligning with the organization’s vision and mission to educate youths, teens, and adults on the imperative to reject drug abuse for a healthier society .

Olayiwola highlighted the importance of raising awareness to deepen understanding of the detrimental effects and consequences of drug abuse on the health system.

He underscored the pivotal role that parents, guardians, custodians, and community leaders play in the campaign to “say no to drug abuse” among other measures.

Furthermore, Olayiwola stressed the necessity of monitoring the basic and social lifestyles of children, both at home, school, and any social environments, as a proactive measure in combating drug-related issues.

Addressing concerns about underage individuals engaging in drug-related activities, especially in hotels, Olayiwola advocated for  strict adherence to regulations by hotel owners.

He called  all stakeholders to report any suspicious activities to the NDLEA, as a decisive way of contributing to the eradication of illicit drug practices within communities.

Olayiwola further expressed gratitude to the members of the Anti-Drug Impact Foundation, and weekly lecturers who have supported educational initiatives on drug abuse, and collaborative efforts from the NDLEA and its sister agency, the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

However, the founder  commended relevant agencies contributing to the foundation’s vision and mission, even as he emphasized the importance of a united front in the battle against drug abuse in Nigeria.
