ANLCA BOT : Over 700 Licensed Owners Under Screening , As Babatunde Abdulazeez Passes Vote Of Confidence On ASECO

Immediate past National Secretary, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Otunba Babatunde Abdulazeez Mikhail has passed vote of confidence to the group’s electoral body ahead of the Board of Trustees (BOT) election.
The frontline freight forwarder cum customs broker is contesting for a spot in the 2024 BOT membership election.
It was gathered that no fewer than 700 customs licensed Managing Director under the association are under intense screening to ascertain their authenticity.
DAILYFOCUS NIGERIA learnt that the election is expected to hold at the three zones simultaneously; where ANLCA Chapters are situated. This includes- Western, Eastern and Northern Zones.
Our correspondent also gathered that Western Zone has the highest number of licensed customs ownership , which can be described as the “Battleground ” for the contestants.
Babatunde who is the Managing Director, Mickey Excellency Nigeria Limited,a customs licensed agency during a chat in Lagos, stated that the Association Electoral Commission ( ASECO) is strategic to organize a successful 2024 BOT election .
According to him, ASECO has published over 700 licenses, which he said are under scrutiny ahead of the election.
He added that “I have no reason to doubt the ASECO team chaired by Obiora Elochukwu and his team and i believe they are going to write their names in gold.
“Corporate companies are members of ANLCA and it does matter if he is a brother to Ernest Elochukwu. I have absolute confidence in the gentleman and his team. So far so good once ASECO always an ASECO . I know this is a test case for him and his team to prove themselves.
Babatunde who was also a former Chairman of ASECO between 2010 to 2018, further noted that “He (Elochukwu)has to do the job diligently for his own sake and his name to be written in gold.”
The former administrator of ANLCA said ASECO is empowered to formulate procedures ahead of the election,even as he referenced the ANLCA Amended Supreme Constitution, which states that “The Association shall have a Board of Trustees which shall be incorporated in accordance with Part C of the companies and allied matter act.
