AMATO Sends Congratulatory Message To Newly Elected P-G Of MWUN, Comrade Bunu

The Lagos State Chairman, Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), Comrade Lukmon Shittu has congratulated the newly elected President General Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis, Bunu.

According to a statement on Monday, Shittu fondly known as Zangalo prayed for the new MWUN boss to succeed in his new position,noting that AMATO will continue to collaborate with the union in a bid to promote seamless haulage and transport activities in the maritime industry.

Shittu who expressed optimism on Bunu’s emergence as the new President General of MWUN,noted that the union under a new dispensation is a testimony of continuity, progress and solidarity for workers welfare – including safety of lives and properties.

The frontline trucker who also doubles as the Chairman , Lagos State Truck and Cargo Committee (LASTCOC) called on the new MWUN boss to join hands together with truck owners to actively resolve maritime trucking challenges, including advocating for improved operational efficiency at the port terminals and to fight against extortion and safety issues affecting truck drivers.

He also maintained that MWUN has been instrumental for the industrial peace and harmony in the maritime industry,while appealing for the new leadership of the union to keep the flag flying in synergy with truckers operating in the sector.

Shittu further appreciated the immediate past President General of MWUN Comrade Adewale Adeyanju for his systematic leadership style ,urging the new helmsman to emulate the good deeds of his predecessor..

He pointed out that:” I bring you warm greetings on behalf of our great association AMATO. We want to congratulate you for the new position as President General of MWUN and we can only pray for your success.

“There is no doubt that you have the qualities of a great leader and that is why we would love to sustain existing relationship with you and your team as partner in progress.

“Indeed , the union has contributed to the maritime haulage operations under past administrations, therefore we will appreciate your robust working relationship towards addressing challenges affecting the business.

“As you sojourn into greatness, AMATO and LASTCOC welcome you to a world of collaboration.”Shittu added .
