But prominent Afenifere leaders including it’s spokesman, Yinka Odumakin and Olu Falae were absent at the meeting.

Speaking with Elombah News correspondent, Mr Odumakin said “every intelligent Nigerian cannot remember hearing their voices in all the challenges the Yoruba have faced in recent time.

“They are all APC members who should have called themselves so if there is decency .

“They are not different from all the funny groups like Imeri group to provoke the Yoruba.

“Its unfortunate that some of these people who played noble roles in the past are doing this in their departing years.”

The five demands of the Afenifere leaders were read by Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye.

Other requests of the group that met Buhari today included security, education, youth employment and power supply.

He said: “We seriously recommend clinging to the spirit and letters of our federal constitution. This is one sure way of achieving the desired goals of unity even in diversity, mutual respect, tolerance and giving true meaning to the opening phrase of our constitution that is, “ we the people “

“We will be a greater nation if we sincerely practice true federalism, think and act as Nigerians rather than as champions of the smaller units we were born into. Our big size is an asset worthy of preservation.
