ADDAX PETROLEUM: Oil Flow Station Explosion kills Two Persons In Imo State

Two persons have been reportedly  killed following an explosion that occurred at a flow-station located at Izombe in Oguta Local government area of Imo State in the early hours of Wednesday.

 

The flow station belongs to Addax Petroleum Development Nigeria Limited.

 

 

 

The Imo State Police Public Relations Officer Micheal Abattam who confirmed the incident to AIT Online says the Commissioner of Police has drafted the Command’s anti-bomb unit to the area and mobilized the men of the command to the area to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

However, a source in the community disclosed to AIT Online that the two persons affected in the explosion were in possession of the explosives which exploded while they made their way to the flow station.

 

 

 

Addax Petroleum is one of the two oil companies located in Izombe community, and in recent times, the community has been an hotbed of insecurity and violence.

 

The most recent is the clash between some youths in the area and officials of the Nigeria Army which left several houses burnt and many dead.
