Adamawa Govt 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 T𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲

𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗱𝘂 𝗨𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘂 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗶,of Adamawa State on  Thursday, launched Tree Planting Campaign in Adamawa State, organized by the 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑵𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 (UN) office of the Humanitarian Affairs in collaboration with the State Government to reduce effects of climate change, and also to commemorate the World Humanitarian Day 2021.

The year’s  theme is “The Human Race”, and it focuses on taking up global action to combat climate change while standing in solidarity with vulnerable populations around the world”.

According to a statement , the event took place in Government House, Yola.

Speaking after planting a tree campaign, 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗨𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘂 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗶 expressed his appreciation to developmental partners for supporting humanity, helping women and children, especially in the crisis areas.

The 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗿 emphasized that State Government will not relent as it will continue to uplift humanity and urging people to queue into the quest of mitigating global environmental challenges across the State.

The Commissioner of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, Reintegration, and Humanitarian Affairs, 𝑴𝒓. 𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒋𝒂𝒉 𝑻𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒂 applauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for always exhibiting the political will to humanitarian needs in Adamawa.

In his remarks, the Head of the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs 𝑴𝒓. 𝑴𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒔𝒂𝒚 said the tree planting campaign is necessary towards combating the effects of climate change in Adamawa.

He further said in commemoration of World Humanitarian Day, his Office has on Wednesday 18th August 2021 organized a cleanup exercise in Jimeta metropolis by picking trash aimed at sanitizing the environment for the general good of the society.
