Abdulkadir: Safety , Teamwork Fuel NSML’s 2025 Success Story, Hails Booming Maritime Sector At Awards Gala

The Nigerian Shipping and Marine Services Limited (NSML) has described the nation’s maritime industry as rapidly growing, crediting its potential to enhanced operational efficiency and collaborative stakeholder efforts.

NSML’s Managing Director, Mr. Ahmed Abdulkadir, made this statement on Thursday at the 2025 NSML Performance Recognition and Awards Ceremony held in Rivers State.

Speaking at the RA Banquet Hall, Abdulkadir emphasized that the event unites the “NSML family” to honour outstanding performances from the past year.

The NSML boss highlighted the marine and blue economy as an untapped resource for Nigeria’s population of over 250 million, with more than 50% under 30 years old.

“We must harness this industry’s vast opportunities,” he said adding that”Safety remains NSML’s core principle, serving as a strategic foundation for asset management.

“”Our assets must be reliably available to deliver functions and create value,” the Managing Director added.

He further emphasized that shipping acts as an enabler, driving industry success through reliability, safety, and value creation.

The Managing Director pointed out that “Every achievement recorded in 2025 was made possible by the dedication, professionalism, and resilience each of you brought to the table,”

Apparently satisfied with the year’s performance by the company, the Managing Director reiterated NSML’s core commitments to safety, reliability, and value, crediting the company’s success to its people—staff, clients, partners, and service providers—who embody the values of Professionalism, Teamwork, Respect, Excellence, and Care (PTREC).

With these pillars in place, Abdulkadir declared 2025 a resounding success for the sector.

“PTREC is not just an internal mantra; it is the backbone of the strong reputation NSML carries across the maritime and shipping world,” he noted.

Continuing, the MD noted that the ceremony goes beyond awards to showcase collective success and recognize individuals and teams who “pushed boundaries” and exemplified these values.
