A Nine Member Business Council Has Been Constituted For Rivers State

The Rivers State Ease of Doing Business Council, inaugurated at government house, port Harcourt has as it’s chair, deputy governor of Rivers State Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo.

Rivers State governor the council is expected to work to improve the investment climate and promote ease of doing business in the state.

He said the council has been set up because it was demanded by the federal government.

Governor Wike described the council as a critical team to the economic development of the State.

He urged the members to create the requisite business environment that will further attract investors to the State

According to the governor, the council will draw up programmes and policies that will create the platform in promoting ease of doing business by businessmen and women.

Chairman of the business council and Deputy Governor of Rivers state, Dr Ipalibo Harry Banigo said the council will discharge its responsibility of developing strategies that can be implemented in promoting the ease of doing business in the state.

Other members of the council are the Commissioner of Finance, Isaac Kamalu, the Attorney General of the State, Prof Zaccheus Adangor, the Commissioner of Commerce and Industry, Mrs Ifeyinwa Nwamkpa, and the chairman, House Committee on Commerce and Industry at the state house of assemble, Ezu Chibudhom.

The council also have the President of Nigeria Entrepreneurs and Investment Forum, Chief Nabil Saleh, the Chairman Rivers state Internal Revenue Service, Chief Adaoge Norteh and the Branch Controller of Central Bank , R.A Randle.
