As the blessed Catholic season of Lent—a 40-day period of prayer, fasting, and repentance—and the Muslim holy month of Ramadan commence today, the Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association (NMNOWTSSA) extends warm greetings to Christians and Muslims worldwide.

National President High Chief Engineer Bob Joseph Yousuo shared these wishes in a statement to our correspondent, signed by Comrade Elder Aleakhue John Okpono, Secretary General of the union.

He noted, “What a coincidence that both faiths begin their fasting and prayer this year on the same day.”Yousuo emphasized that this season reminds us God is one, urging everyone—regardless of religion—to show love to one another.
