Allied Air, SAHCOL To Launch Cargo Operations At Ogun Gateway International Airport

Commercial cargo flight operations are set to take off at Gateway International Airport, Iperu, marking another major leap in Ogun State’s aviation and economic growth journey.

Following the successful launch of passenger flights in October 2025, the entry of cargo services led by Allied Air and Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCOL) Plc positions the airport as a rising logistics hub for Nigeria and the wider West African region.

The facility is expected to support agricultural exports, manufacturing logistics, and international trade, while easing pressure on existing cargo routes.

Speaking after a meeting with Governor Dapo Abiodun, industry leaders praised the airport’s world-class infrastructure and strategic proximity to Lagos, describing it as ideal for cargo operations, training, and investment. Stakeholders project thousands of direct and indirect jobs across aviation, warehousing, trucking, cold-chain logistics, and export processing.

With cargo operations coming on stream, Gateway International Airport is set to drive trade, boost agribusiness, attract investors, and strengthen Ogun State’s position as a key logistics gateway in Nigeria.
