The AMATO Secretary maintained that the police have contributed significantly to port security in the nation’s seaports, underscoring the need for adequate equipment.
He listed items such as motorbikes, patrol vehicles, and modern technology to aid performance, while expressing optimism that port police authorities can improve their performance and facilitate trade more effectively if they are provided with the necessary apparatus.
Mohammed also stressed the importance of stakeholders such as the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Nigerian Shippers Council, and the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) to boost personnel morale by providing essential equipment, thereby enhancing their performance.
