Ace Broadcaster, Vera Osokpo Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

Vera Osokpo,a Lagos based On Air Personality(OAP) has won a Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to the media industry through promotion of free speech, creating opportunities for balanced reporting and advancing the cause of developmental journalism

According to the organisers,the award presentation, which was part of Isoko Mirror Newspaper’s 20th anniversary, held in..Man̈o Hotel ( Yaga) Oleh, Isoko South….of Delta State, Osokpo was also recognised for her selflessness and commitment to credible journalistic ideals

Osokpo ,who presently works as one of the anchors on Lagos based MITV breakfast show, has carved a niche for herself in print electronic and online journalism blazing a trail of excellence and versatility

While thanking the organisers for honour, she described the award as a motivation to more duties and a challenge to further impact on the society through her work.

According to the awardee, journalism is a social responsibility that demands integrity and forthright disposition from practitioners

“This honour is a challenge for me to improve in what I am doing for society. I never saw it coming. All I did was try to be a better version of myself as the days go by. I didn’t know people were following and taking note of my activities. Indeed, I am humbled by this honour, ” she said.
