Merchant Navy Union Mourns Over Capt Awonuga ‘s Mother Demise

The Nigeria Merchant Navy Officers and Water Transport Senior Staff Association NMNOWTSSA has joined millions of families, friends and well wishers to mourn the demise of Late Mrs. Sekinat Atinuke Awonuga.

Mrs. Sekinat Atinuke Awonuga is the mother of Captain Awonuga Saliu Adetayo chairman, Shipping Zonal Council of the seafarers’ union

According to a statement from the union Secretary General, Comrade Aleakhue John Okpono on Monday, Late Mrs. Awonuga passed onto glory on the 15th of November 2024 at about 4:40pm .

She was aged 86 years and died in her home town , Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.

The Union’s statement disclosed that she has been buried according to Islamic rites on the 17th November 2024. May her soul rest in peace of Allah amii.

The NMNOWTSSA under the leadership of Comr. C/Engr.  Bob Joseph Yousuo expressed the Association’s condolences to Capt Awonuga Saliu Adetayo, Shipping Zonal council, loved ones, friends and well-wishers and other members of the family saying “May mama find solace in the sight of Allah ami.

“Mama was a virtuous woman a model to womenfolk. She will be missed by many mostly in the Islamic group she belonged to. Adieu mother of peace.,” Yousuo said.
