As part of efforts to resolve traffic situation within it’s environs, Transafe 360 has entered into strategic partnership with the executives of Ikotun/Igando Local Government Council under Alimosho Local government Area of Lagos State.
Transafe 360, a group which was created to enlighten, educate and provide solution to the transport sector and road construction in the state.
The group said its cardinal objective is to associate with the local council and work hand in hand in order to enable a free flow of traffic, safety of the citizens and capacity building programme for residents of the community.
Speaking at a courtesy visit to the Chaiman Ikotun/Igando local Government Council, Akinsanya Lasisi Ayomide, during the week, in a bid to provide a good atmospheric pressure and social infrastructure to it community and environs, Founder Transafe 360, Alhaji Ganiyu Jimba said the group have been working hard with the state government ministries and officials of the state such as the Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Police and others,to resolve the gridlock with the largest local government in the state.
The founder of the group further, stressed the need for management of the local council to look inward by considering roads for rehabilitation and upgrading within its environs.
According to a statement, he noted that “Some areas needed to be looked into for proper renovation of the roads which are serving as alternative routes in order to ease traffic on the main roads.”
Also speaking, a members of Transafe 360, who also doubles as an activist Comrade Olayiwola Ibrahim urged the Chairman to provide some speed breakers and street light around governor road, Igando and other localities within the community to reduce the rate of accidents within the aforementioned routed.
Olayiwola maintained that frequent occurrence of accident along the aforementioned areas should be addressed noting that less accident reported cases within community is a signal of good governance .
A LASTMA official and members of Transafe 360 , Mr Ogundare Emmanuel also commended the Chairman and Vice Chairman Ikotun/Igando Council for the work done so far and urge the executives to continue the good work towards the betterment of the communities.
Responding , the Vice Chairperson, Mrs Mojisola Badmus who represented the Chairman commended and appreciated the voluntary effort of the group.
While attending to questions been asked, Mrs Mojisola said the incumbent Chairman Mr, Akinsanya Lasisi has been working round the clock to provide a conducive environment to the citizens.
She stated that the new construction at the Ikotun market was also aimed to repair the road , coupled with a good drainage system to enhance the free flow of water at the market square.
She added that the Council have also provided some people who were well trained by the FRSC, LASTMA and the Police officers to be stationed across the communities to ensure a free flow of traffic.
The Vice Chairman noted that would look into the areas mention and also write to the Government for other places mention for a better and quick approach by the Lagos State Government.
The Vice Chairman urge Transafe 360 members not to relent in their good work, adding that as soon as the completion of the ongoing newly constructed road around it axis will ease the traffic along Igando, and also serve as a link route between Akesan , Agric, Modina, And Isuti road.
