Newly appointed Port Manager , Tin Can Island Port Complex (TICPC) , Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Mallam Buba Jubril on Monday, assumed office .
Buba who took over from Engr. Ibrahim Yunusa Anji was showered with good remarks from colleagues and well wishers.
A cross section of colleagues during the handing over ceremony held in Lagos, took turn to extol both the new and outgoing Port Managers.
Addressing the gathering, shortly after a brief ceremony, held at the boardroom , TCIPC, Anji lauded efforts of Management of the NPA for the introduction of the E-CALL up system ETO.
The outgoing Port Managers reiterated that ETO was able to address the perennial gridlock within the port access road of TCIPC.
He noted that the introduction of the e-call up system further brought sanity to the port adding that despite the road construction transporters and truckers were able to find some level of succour in their operations.
Anji maintained that truckers are responsible people with good heart against the background of negative impression from stakeholders but stressed the need for more enlightenment on ETO.
He called on the new Port Manager to engage stakeholders constructively in furtherance to improve on the traffic situation along the corridor.
Responding, Buba disclosed that he understands the terrain vividly and would work closely with all components of TCIPC .
He said: ” I left this place to Apapa port leaving some of my colleagues that we share the same office together behind.
“Today, am here as PM. Please note that all of us are colleagues but somebody must hold a particular position ahead of others but be rest assured that tomorrow will someone else turn.”
Recall that management of the NPA under the acting Managing Director, Mr. Mohammed Bello Koko redeployed some port and traffic managers for effective performance.
