Members and families of the Ikate Baptist Church, (Chapel of Joy) Lagos, have continued to pay their last tribute in honour of Late Reverend Isaiah Olufemi Bamimodu.
The Late Cleric who died July 3rd 2021 at age 91 has been described as a stickler of baptist beliefs and doctrines, thus a dedicated ” Man of God”.
Bamimodu was the second pastor to serve in the Surulere based church , spent nine years in residential sermon and counselling to the congregation with a touch of humility.
The commendation service which held at the Ikate Baptist Church Surulere, Lagos had in attendance top notch ministers from the baptist fraternity, families,friends and well wishers.
Speaking at the service, to honour the nonagenarian, Parish Pastor, Ikate Baptist Church, Reverend Doctor Joseph Adetutu reiterated that the late Bamimodu deserved to be honoured and commended for the ministerial exploit as recorded in the historical book of the church at 50, adding that the late Cleric interaction with the church society was unique.
Rev. Adetutu pointed out that “Your contributions to the physical and spiritual growth of Ikate Baptist Church was of great significant to every member of the church.
“Most importantly is the present church building which was built and dedicated during your pastoral ministry on Sunday, 26 November 1983.
“You led the way for us who followed in your exemplary servant leadership as pastors in the same chapel of joy called Ikate Baptist Church.
He stressed that ” Baba, may the Lord bless your children,we are surely going to miss you but you will be forever remembered.
He however cited the book of Philippians 1:2 that says ” For to me ,to live is Christ and to die is gain”
Also speaking, Pastor Dr.Odunayo Oke, Former Lagos State Baptist Conference (LSBC) Conference Secretary said ” the Late Cleric was a father to all and that the achievements were unique.
He described the Late Bamimodu as an icon and trail blazers ; with virtues that are so contagious thus robbed on him positively when the late cleric passed on the baton to him to lead the ministry.
On her part, daughter of Late Bamimodu, Reverend Olushola Rotimi Ogundele who spoke on behalf of the children pointed out that ” Your exemplary life is worthy of emulation, saying that ” you were one in a million father.
She noted “Darling daddy you were passionate ,caring and selfless person, and you were a father to many”.
Rev. Ogundele maintained that education was her late dad’s passion saying that until his dying moment,he had a wonderful relationship with the children.
