The Palliatives’ Committee set up by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum moved into Dusuman ward of Jere Local Government, for the distribution of food items to more than 3,000 households.
Each beneficiary received one bag of 10kg rice, two cartons of noodles, 3 litres of cooking oil, one bag of 25kg maize flour, and some condiments.
The state commissioner for Agric, Engr Bukar Talba, who doubles as the palliative chairman, led members of the Committee to carryout the ongoing distribution.
Chairperson of SEMA and the committee’s Secretary, Hajiya Yabawa Kolo, said the committee would ensure transparency, accountability and equity in the discharge of its responsibilities.
Thousands of citizens were reached at the wards already covered by the distribution.
