DSCTDA Impounds Vehicles Of Car Dealers On Govt Setback

The Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency today, November 6, clamped down on car dealers in Asaba for indiscriminate parking on government setbacks.

Officials of the Agency led by the Director General, Hon. Mrs. Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, embarked on enforcement patrol through Summit/Anwai road, from Inter Bau to Summit Junction.

It will be recalled that the Agency held a meeting less than one month ago with car dealers in the capital territory, urging them to move their wares away from government setbacks. Some of the impounded vehicles were conveyed to the Agency’s office by a towing van while the rest had their tyres deflated.

Mrs. Mrakpor explained that indiscriminate parking defaces the environment, blocks pedestrian walkways and causes traffic gridlock in most areas. She advised members of the public to be conscious of their environment and refrain from unauthorised use of right way as operatives of the Agency will sanction any business organisation that contravenes extant environmental laws.
