68 Host Communities Provide 130,000 Hectares Of Land For Delta Palm Plantation Devt

Delta State Governor , Sheriff Oborevwori officially unveiled the Delta State Commercial Oil Palm Plantation Development Land Bank and Agric Data (DELCOM COOP) at the Government House Press Centre in Asaba.

During the event, the Governor who also announced his membership in DELCOM, revealed that 68 host communities have released 130,000 hectares of arable land across the three senatorial districts to support the initiative.

Oborevwori in his address reiterated that the theme of the programme, “Transforming Delta State Oil Palm Industry in Furtherance of the MORE Agenda,” reflects the government’s commitment to unlocking the immense potential of agriculture.

He stressed the need for economic diversification in the state.

Highlighting the significance of the oil palm sector, Oborevwori described it as a catalyst for sustainable development, wealth creation, and improved livelihoods.

Meanwhile, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori alongside his wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori welcomed Her Excellency, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu (CON), First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to the official presentation ceremony of 10,000 professional kits (Crocs and Scrubs) for midwives from the South-South Geopolitical Zone at an event which took place at the Dome Event Center, Asaba.

Speaking during the event, Dcns. Tobore Oborevwori extolled Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for her selfless commitment to improving the lives of women and children in the country through the Renewed Hope Initiative.

She also emphasized Sen. Oluremi Tinubu’s impactful educational and people-focused initiatives, which have benefited students, elderly citizens, farmers, and women in Delta State.

In addition, Governor Oborevwori expressed appreciation to Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for her compassionate commitment to improving the welfare of midwives, not just in Delta State but across the nation.

He emphasized that this critical intervention in healthcare delivery will boost midwives’ morale, enhance their productivity, and elevate their professional image.
