NNS Beecroft Raids Criminal Safe Haven, In Ajegunle, Nabs 27 Suspected Drug Peddlers

The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT has conducted a coordinated raid and dislodged identified criminal safe haven in Gidan Drama, located at Malu Road, Apapa.

The Commander NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Paul Ponfa Nimmyel who was represented by the Executive Officer, Captain Idongesit Udoessien disclosed that the raid was carried out on Saturday, 5 April 2025 by personnel of NNS BEECROFT following credible intelligence received by the Base on the presence of suspected drug peddlers in Gidan Drama which necessitated the deployment of Operation MESA.

Lieutenant Hussaini Ibrahim on Wednesday, disclosed during the raid, a total of 27 suspected drug peddlers – comprising of 3 females and 24 males – were arrested with hard drugs and other illicit substances. Details of the suspects are as follow:

a. Ajike Rahime – 20 years.
b. Padipe Olamiposin – 20 years.
c. Ayike Yusuf – 21 years.

MALES

a. Samaili Ibrahim – 21 years.
b. Yusuf Danjuma – 30 years.
c. Hamisu Sanusi – 34 years.
d. Odi Yahaya – 20 years.
e. Adamu Umaru – 23 years.
f. Friday Ochoba – 45 years.
g. Michael Istwuo – 25 years.
h. Eze Frank – 40 years.
i. Joshua Esua – 20 years.
j. Daus John – 19 years.
k. Musa Andrawus – 34 years.
l. Nwakaeze David – 21 years.
m. Abubakar Shamsu – 24 years.
n. Elisha Mark – 18 years.
o. Mohammed Umar – 22 years.
p. Bashir Abubakar – 30 years.
q. Nafiu Hassan – 35 years.
r. Akombi Dele Yusuf – 34 years.
s. Abdullahi Yusuf – 23 years.
t. Abba Usman – 22 years.
u. Ukasha Alhassan – 29 years.
v. Abdullazeez Yusuf – 18 years.
w. Joshua Emmanuel – 21 years.
x. Justice Obasa – 32 years.

“This successful arrest of 27 suspects and the illicit substances underscores the unwavering commitment of NNS BEECROFT to curtailing spread and use of illicit drugs among teaming youth which negatively affect their health and threaten national security. Accordingly, the 27 suspects and exhibits were handed over to the officials of National Drugs law Enforcement Agency for further necessary action.”It noted.
