4-Year-Old Girl, Security Guard, Others Killed In Oye-Ekiti Bank Robbery

Two persons including a 4-year-old girl have been killed after a gang of armed robbers attacked a commercial bank in Oye Ekiti.

The deceased were hit by bullets shot by the criminals while attempting to flee the scene.

The baby girl was said to be in her mother’s shop beside the bank before she was hit by a stray bullet while the other victim is said to be a security guard working with the bank.

The robbers numbering about eight were said to have stormed the bank at few minutes after 3 in the afternoon where carted away some money.

The operation lasted for some minutes before the criminals were said to have escaped through the back door of the bank.

It was also gathered that a police van, which was highjacked and used to block the highway by the robbers was set ablaze after the operation.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ekiti State, Caleb Ikechukwu, confirmed the incident to Our correspondent, but said the command was on the trail of the robbers.
