3RD ANNIVERSARY: Gov. Diri Inaugurates Remodeled Judge’s Quarters In Bayelsa

Senator Douye Diri, governor of Bayelsa State, on Friday,inaugurated the remodelled judge’s quarters in Opolo, Yenagoa.

The inauguration is part of activities to mark the third anniversary of the prosperity administration.

Governor Diri who described the judiciary as a critical arm of government, also said that, the security of judges is of top priority to the government.

“It is a thing of joy for us to be gathered here to inaugurate the remodelled and upgraded Judge’s quarters. When we came in, we saw that there was work to be done here before judges can actually inhabit these quarters.

“We started remodelling and by our thinking, it is good enough for our judges to occupy, and that is the good thing about continuity. I urge the benefitting judges to accept and, and know that this is the beginning of more things to come.

“There were a lot of concerns that were raised about this project, particularly the nearness to the expressway and security concerns, and that was why we deemed it necessary to build a police post that is already completed to take care of some of those security concerns.

“In addition to the police post, we have graduated over Six hundred youths who have been trained in paramilitary, and they will also add to the security of this place, working together with all our security agencies, they will keep an eye on this place. The security of our judges is a top priority of this government,” Governor Diri stated.

In attendance at the ceremony were Justice Ama Diri, wife of the governor, His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, speaker, Bayelsa State House of Assembly and other members of the state House of Assembly, Justice Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye, acting chief judge of Bayelsa State, Justice Kate Abiri.

Others are immediate past Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, HRM King Bubaraye Dakolo, Agada IV, Ibenanaowei of Ekpetiama kingdom and chairman, Bayelsa State council of traditional rulers and other top government functionaries.
