300 Speed Boats Deployed For MWUN To Distribute Electoral Materials In Rivers State LG Polls – RSIEC

The Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), Dr. Michael Odey, has disclosed that a total of three hundred speedboats were hired for the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) to distribute electoral materials across all locations in the state.

Odey who also commended the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria for the timely delivery of local government electoral materials to all twelve riverine locations in the state without any issues.

According to a statement signed by
Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna
Head of Media, MWUN over the weekend quoted Dr. Odey saying , that the election cycle marked a significant improvement in the distribution of electoral materials to the riverine areas, following an agreement with the leadership of union to ensure the effective delivery of voting materials ahead of time.

He further explained that the MWUN leadership, currently under the stewardship of Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, President-General of the Union, supervised the seamen and boat districts to ensure the timely delivery of electoral materials for the day’s Rivers State local government elections.

The RSIEC chairman further lauded the Union for a job well done, emphasizing that all riverine communities had no cause to complain about late delivery of voting materials, while expressing his full satisfaction with their performance.
