MWUN ELECTION: Comrade Sanni Set To Launch 2nd  Tribute Single In Support For Adeyanju Reelection

Barely a week to the much talked about election of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) , former President Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Branch , Comrade Adeleke Sanni is set to drop his second tribute song in solidarity support for the union’s President General ,Comrade Adewale Adeyanju reelection.

 

Comrade Sanni who is the current  Special Adviser to the union’s President General on Labour Matters; titled the second single as “The Man We Trust” .

 

The song is also produced, written and composed by Sanni, even as the executive producer of the song is the Dockworkers Branch President , Comrade Ohize Tajudeen.

 

Sanni had earlier in the year dropped the first single titled “We are marching forward.”

 

The singer in a chat with our correspondent on Thursday in Lagos, reiterated that the songs were purposefully released to support the incumbent President General of MWUN.

 

According to him, the solidarity songs are part of efforts to show  commitment for the union’s boss second term bid.

 

He said “The idea of the music came up to ginger members ahead of the election. Members of the union appreciate the songs. I don’t have money to give as support for his reelection but I felt as a friend and brother I need to do something unique in solidarity support for comrade Adeyanju.

 

Sanni said the two songs released so far had strong lyrical content about the leadership style of the incumbent President General ; industrial peace in the maritime sector and the improved welfare packages put in place for workers by him; mostly as it affects the four branches of the union.

 

He further thanked the districts and units chairmen of the Dockworkers Branch for the support in ensuring that the songs were actualised.

 

While speaking on how he was influenced musically, he noted that Late Fela Kuti inspired him into music despite being a chorister in an Anglican church.

 

Sanni said he had been a regular guest at the Fela Shrine in Ojuelegba and Gbemisola residents respectively in time past, saying Aba Mi Eda played an instrumental role in his life.

 

He also disclosed that he was instrumental in that last protest by Organised Labour in solidarity support on minimum wage brouhaha.
