Stevedore Giant ; Micura Services To Celebrate 20 Years With Weeklong Festivities

Foremost stevedoring company Micura Services Limited (MSL) has announced that it will hold “Micura Week” in February 2027 as part of celebrations marking the company’s 20th anniversary.

Management of Micura Services Limited further said preparations are under way for the milestone, with plans for a weeklong programme of activities.

The events will include a cultural day, religious day, workers’ day, sports day and entertainment day, among other activities.

Managing Director/CEO High Chief Michael Orobosa Ubogu disclosed this on Monday in Lagos and declared February 20, 2027, as the date for the event’s grand finale, noting that two decades of the company’s existence is worth celebrating.

Ubogu said management agreed to hold the 20th anniversary because “a child born 20 years ago cannot be hidden,” hence the need for a modest celebration.

He explained that the company will mark 20 years on February 16, but the grand finale will take place on February 20.

The stevedoring boss reiterated, “As a modest organisation we don’t do loud things; however, a child born 20 years ago should not be hidden. We intend to hold a cultural day as part of the lineup of events to mark the anniversary properly.

“Preparations have started: we are sourcing for a hall, and a gospel musician has been engaged to perform on the day. The human resources department has been tasked with developing a template for Micura Week, including the anniversary dress code, to showcase that we have come this far and to give thanks to God Almighty.

“Micura Services Limited will be 20 years on February 16, but we are scheduling the celebration for February 20, 2027,” Ubogu added.

Micura Services Limited is the only stevedoring contractor in Nigeria with ISO certification, which it obtained in 2019.
