CP Toyin Agbaminoja Assumes Duty As Commissioner Of Police In Charge Of Western Port Command

The Ports Authority Police (Western) Command has announced the assumption of duty of CP Toyin Agbaminoja as the 33rd Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, Apapa, Lagos.

She takes over from AIG Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola, psc, mnips, who was recently promoted and proceeds on retirement today, 16th October, 2025.

According to a statement, CP Agbaminoja, a seasoned and highly dedicated police officer, was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1994 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, Course 18. She hails from Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language from the University of Ilorin, obtained in 1992.

Since her enlistment, CP Agbaminoja has served in various operational, investigative, and administrative capacities across the country. She began her career at the Kwara State Police Command, where she worked as Area Crime Officer, Ilorin Metropolis Area Command.
Over the years, she has held several key positions, including postings to the IGP Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja; the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Ikoyi; and the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), where she demonstrated outstanding investigative and leadership skills.

While serving at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Ikoyi, she was seconded to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Enforcement Unit, where she headed the detachment of police detectives attached to the unit, leading several successful anti-counterfeiting and regulatory operations and investigations. She later returned to the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), Ikoyi, as Officer-in-Charge, Diplomatic Unit.

She has also served with distinction at the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, where she held several leadership positions such as DPO Roro Port Division, Command Traffic Officer, and Area Commander, Western Ports.

In her trailblazing career, CP Agbaminoja has achieved several historic firsts:

First female Area Commander, Area ‘M’ Idimu (2017)

First female Head, Zonal Criminal Investigation Department, Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos (2021)

First female Deputy Commissioner of Police, Airport Command (2023)

First female Deputy Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command Criminal Investigation Department (2024)

Promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police in February 2025, she was appointed to head the Special Enquiry Bureau, FCID, Alagbon, Ikoyi before her recent deployment as Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, Apapa.

CP Toyin Agbaminoja has attended several professional and leadership courses both within Nigeria and abroad, enhancing her operational and strategic capacity.

She is happily married and blessed with children, and her hobbies include cooking and reading.

Upon assumption of office, CP Agbaminoja reaffirmed her readiness to work collaboratively with all stakeholders within the maritime industry to strengthen port security, promote operational efficiency, and ensure a safe and secure maritime environment for economic growth.
