PDP Appoints Zamfara State Caretaker Committee

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  pursuant to Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution 2017 (as amended), has approved the appointment of a caretaker committee to pilot the affairs of the party in Zamfara State.

Members of the Zamfara State Caretaker Committee are as follows; Capt. Umar Bature  -Chairman ,  Yusuf L. Dambazzau  -Secretary and Farouk Shettima Rijiya -Member.

 

 

Others are: Alh. Barmo Abdullahi Kanoma       -Member, Alh. Muhammadu Dan Gwamna Gummi -Member, Alh. Usamatu Maharazu Marafa -Member, Bala Mohammed Zurmi -Member, Sani Ahmed Kaura -Member , Medinah Shehu (Woman) and Abba Bello Oando (Youth).

Kola Ologbondiyan, National Publicity Secretary who disclosed this on Thursday, said the caretaker committee is to oversee the affairs of our party in Zamfara state for a period of not more than 90 days or until when a new state Exco is elected in line with the provisions of the PDP Constitution 2017 (as amended).

“All party leaders, critical stakeholders, teeming members and supporters of our party in Zamfara state are urged to remain united as we collectively reclaim our stolen governorship mandate and move Zamfara State forward.”

 

 

Meanwhile, the 𝑷𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆’𝒔 𝑫𝒆𝒎𝒐𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒚 𝑬-𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒆 has been meeting in Abuja to fine tune its strategy ahead of the 2023 elections in Nigeria.

 

The Committee which is meeting for the third time since its inauguration is coming at a time the Independent National Electoral Commission has commence E-voter registration exercise.

 

It also comes amid concerns by some Nigerians on the sincerity of the Federal Government on electoral reforms even as the House of Representatives denies allegations of blocking the transmission of election results electronically.

𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒖𝒕𝒚 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒘𝒂 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐮 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐮 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 who chaired Thursday’s meeting commended the Committee members for availing themselves for service to Party and Nigeria.

 

𝙃𝙪𝙢𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙝𝙞 𝙒𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙠𝙤𝙪  , 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙎𝙚𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙤𝙧 who disclosed this on Thursday in a statement, quoted the 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 saying, 𝐏𝐃𝐏 meant well for the people of Nigeria and will continue to defend democracy.

 

He noted that the Party initiated the process to involve Nigerian people of voting age, but regretted the disconnect between the leadership and the electorate who have not shown interest in electoral process, blaming it on the failure of leadership.

𝐑𝐭. 𝐇𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐮 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐮 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐢 disclosed that the Party will support 𝑰𝑵𝑬𝑪 in the registration process.

 

Various sub committees briefed the meeting on strategies to be deployed towards the success of the exercise.

 

Lead Consultants agree with the position of the Party, saying the apathy of Nigerians arises from failure of leadership and commended 𝐏𝐃𝐏 for bringing its voice into the space, noting that the Party have the future with them.

 

They observed that as a result, young Nigerians are sitting on the fence, stressing the need to engage them and reawaken their consciousness.

 

The consultants believe that the process will build trust and inspire hope in Nigerians.
