Ohanaeze Ndigbo Appoints Gowon To Spearhead Negotiations For 2023 Igbo Presidency
South East group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has selected former military head of state, Yakubu Gowon to spearhead negotiations for an Igbo Presidency in 2023.
Apex Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has also disclosed plans to meet with a group of top politicians in the country in order to achieve its goal of an Igbo presidency in the 2023 general elections.
The group in a statement on Friday, revealed that it would hold meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari, Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Atiku Abubakar, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Olusegun Obasanjo along with other stakeholders.
“Every Nigerian has the right to ascribe for the highest office in the land, but the Collective interests of Nigeria supersede the individual quests.”
“God had kept General Yakubu Gowon alive for the singular reason to Cement the Unity of Nigeria by advocating and Facilitating the emergence of Nigerian President of Igbo Stock in 2023, after 50 years after the Biafra War ended, failure to do so will undoubtedly affect the Unity of Nigeria.”
“A New Zik of Africa will be presented to Nigerians by 2021, Nigerians especially the youths will ensure that there will be a generational shift in 2023, as the next President of Nigeria will not be above 65years by 2023, Nigeria needs an energetic Person with Vigour to reactivate the full potentials of Nigeria as truly the Giant of Africa.” the statement read.
The group also revealed that it would be lobbying several top political stakeholders and aggressively canvassing for an Igbo Presidency after the coronavirus pandemic clears.
